Tsardom of Sinyara
"Of the empires that were founded in this world, the most ancient and the richest still, is undoubtedly that of the Sinyarans. In all my travels, never before had I seen a place of such riches and opulence.

Overview
The Tsardom of Sinyara is a wealthy maritime state situated east of the Samsharan Desert, where caravan routes meet the open sea. Known for its cobalt architecture, elegant fashion, and unmatched port cities, Sinyara sees itself as a nation suspended between past and future, a civilization gazing into the horizon whilst never forgetting its roots.
The state derives its name from the founding family of House Sinyat, who are believed to have been chosen by the gods as the rightful rulers. To the people, the dynasty and the color blue are inseparable; it's both a matter of aesthetics and ideology – a symbol of permanence and legitimacy.
Sinyara is often described by foreigners as a place where wealth is displayed with theatrical grace. Its cities are designed not only to function but to impress.
The Sealing of the Cyclone
According to Sinyaran legend, the world once trembled under a sky-tearing calamity known as the Cyclone, a force said to have risen from beneath the sea, threatening to bring ruin upon the races. Storms raged without end, and the horizon itself burned with azure fire.
A wandering figure, remembered in Sinyara as the Veiled Sovereign, who walked into the heart of the storm without a weapon and, instead of killing the Cyclone, sealed it by binding it beneath the waves with an eternal mark. This figure, believed to have either belonged to the Sinyat family or to have blessed them with divine authority.
When the storm subsided, the Veiled Sovereign was nowhere to be seen, and only what would become the first Tsar of Sinyara stood unharmed upon the quiet shore. Having been blessed with mandate, the ancestor founded Sinyara at that very site.
Modern historians debate whether the catastrophe was natural, supernatural, or entirely allegorical. Sinyarans consider the question irrelevant. What matters is that the dynasty endured, and endurance is proof of eternity.
Cultural Identity
Sinyara defines itself through two guiding ideas: eternity and horizon; the former being the belief that the state exists in an unbroken line from mythic origin to present day, the latter being a cultural obsession with outward motion: exploration, trade, navigation, diplomacy – the horizon is seen as a promise, rather than a boundary.
Architecture and Aesthetic
Sinyaran cities are instantly recognizable:
- Pale stone structures with cobalt roofs
- Blue-glazed domes and archways
- Gold inlays signaling wealth and stability
- Harbors designed as ceremonial entrances to the nation
- Broad avenues meant for processions and public spectacles
Buildings are constructed to reflect the sea and sky. At sunrise and sunset, entire districts appear to glow blue.
Fashion mirrors architecture. Nobility wear layered blues to signify lineage and status; merchants compete in imported fabrics dyed with rare pigments. Blue is political attire – to wear it is to align oneself with the Tsardom.
Economy
Sinyara's wealth flows from its position as a crossroads:
- Desert caravans funnel luxury goods eastward
- Maritime routes connect to distant islands and foreign empires
- The Tsardom operates a vast banking network
- Shipyards produce the finest trade vessels in the region
While the Tsar is revered as the eternal and rightful ruler, merchant houses wield enormous influence. Governance is a dance between ceremonial monarchy and economic pragmatism.
Religion and Philosophy
The dominant belief system does not worship a singular god in the conventional sense. Instead, the Tsar is considered to have been chosen directly by the divine, and is considered as being the closest being to the divine authority of the Veiled Sovereign.
The only ritual in the Sinyaran religion involves watching the break of dawn on the first day of the first new moon of the year, whilst praying to the benevolence of the Veiled Sovereign for having chained the Cyclone for yet another year, and for many years to come.
